A Guide
For First Time Buyers
1. Please inspect
your intended purchases carefully as all vehicles are sold
"as is" without warranty or guarantee unless otherwise
stated.
2. It is common for most used
vehicles to require some repairs to be fully operational and
roadworthy. You should take this into consideration when bidding.
3. Make a note of the odometer
reading on the vehicle itself, although we make every effort to
make sure that the catalogue contains the correct distance traveled,
it is ultimately the responsibility of the purchaser to know what
he is purchasing.
4. The vehicles are available for
inspection prior to sale so please come early to allow enough time
for thorough viewing.
5. For safety reasons, no bidder
will be allowed to start the motors of any of the vehicles. Our
staff will be driving the vehicles into the auction building
during the sale and you may hear them running at that time.
6. All vehicles are sold subject
to the approval of the consignors. Therefore, the highest bid is
not necessarily accepted.
7. To Bid, simply raise your bid
card to the auctioneer or the closest floor man. If you are ever
in doubt as to what level the bidding has risen, please ask one of
the floor men before continuing to bid.
8. If you are the successful
bidder on a vehicle your deposit of $200.00 cash will be required
in the office immediately. There you will fill out a sales
contract for the purchase of your vehicle.
9. Providing the Auction obtains
ownerships from the consigners in a timely fashion, most
ownerships for purchased vehicles are ready to be picked up after
3:30 P.M. Monday following sale day. PBR Auto Auction cannot
guarantee every ownership the following Monday, but we do make
every effort to have them ready for purchasers as quickly as
possible. If you wish your ownership mailed, you may request this
of any of the office staff before leaving the auction.
10. The auction is a fast, fun,
and money-saving way to purchase good used vehicles, but please
remember that for what you purchase you are expected to pay. As we
are obligated to pay our consignors.
"Phone
Bid" Sales
1. A "phone bid" is the
highest bid on a vehicle that is recorded and held for the
approval of an owner who is not in attendance at the time of sale.
2. If your bid is the highest bid
on a given vehicle and the owner is not present, one of our staff
will phone the owner and try to get approval of your bid, if the
bid is approved by phone, the vehicle is considered sold to you as
if sold on the auction block.
3. If the owner cannot be reached
immediately, you may bid on another vehicle and if successful on
the second vehicle, the "phone bid" will be cancelled at
your request.
